In this insightful video, Colonel Todd takes us through the journey of the original "FrankenSAM" system, which evolved from an idea to two fully functional systems in Ukrainian hands in just three months. Discover how expiring ASRAAM air-to-air missiles were ingeniously repurposed on high-mobility vehicles to safeguard Ukrainian cities and critical infrastructure from cruise missiles and attack drones. Learn about the collaboration between Task Force Kindred, MBDA, the RAF and DE&S, which operated under tight operational security in late 2022, successfully tested the system off the coast of South Wales. By early 2023, they delivered eight RAVEN systems along with nearly 150 missiles. In total, over 400 missiles have been delivered so far. |
