| Video Discription | This behind‑the‑scenes censored video shows how we create a typical 360° pose reference for artists. The video quality may be rough, but the resulting photos are much better. There’s a lot of Jenni patiently standing around while we sort out the usual setup tasks — dialing in the camera, grabbing white‑balance references, and generally figuring out what we’re doing. Sorry about that! It actually took even longer than shown. Once we finally start rotating, it’s funny to see her smile at this new modeling experience and then drop back into character for the photos. Today our platform spins continuously by motor and is remote‑controlled; back then we stopped every 15 degrees and it was turned by hand. A workout! A little background: I had admired Jenni as a model for years, but she was in the Czech Republic and I was near Boston in the U.S. One day, completely unexpectedly, I get an email from her: “Would you like to set up a shoot?” My brain: OMG, REALLY?!? My reply: “That would be great! When are you available?” That email led to our first shoot together, and this poorly lit video is from the very first pose she did for us (see the much better quality photos at our website) a classic contrapposto pose — now immortalized at PoseSpace.com as Jenni001. The original source images are high resolution, designed so artists can study form, gesture, lighting, and anatomy with clarity. The still photos offer far more detail for drawing, painting, sculpting, and 3D workflows. We’ve been photographing figure reference since 2004 and typically capture 24 images as we rotate the model through a complete 360‑degree turn.
