Recovery is not a steady slope upwards--it is a rollercoaster, a landscape of peaks and valleys, and climb on which one sometimes falters. Recovery is not a straight-forward journey, and disordered eating is truly impactful, dangerous, and deeply disturbing to the very fabric of living one's own life. While this film is intended to be a fictionalized portrayal of disordered eating, it has been influenced by my own experience and I found that creating it provided me with a deep sense of catharsis.
