Autopsy suggests suicide
A day after 11 of a family were found mysteriously dead in their home in Delhi’s Burari, an post-mortem of all the eleven members of the family has been completed. 75-year-old elderly woman also committed suicide, and was not murdered. She committed suicide with the help of a belt. The belt has been recovered by the police officers.

No tree felling till July 19
Hearing a plea by an NGO, the National Green Tribunal today directed that no trees would be cut till July 19 by the National Buildings Construction Corporation and the Central Public Works Department. The panel also directed the project proponents to inform it about the exact number of trees which are proposed to be cut for the redevelopment project.

Response needed on ‘fake encounters’
The Supreme Court today sought a response from the Uttar Pradesh government on a plea alleging that several fake encounters have taken place in the state in recent past. An NGO had filed a PIL alleging that as many as 500 encounters have been carried out in the state recently, in which a total of 58 persons have been killed.

The Supreme Court today extended its June 30 deadline for publication of the final draft of Assam’s National Register of Citizens by a month, after the Centre and the state coordinator agreed to publish it within the new time limit. The apex court said it will consider all the interlocutory applications and other related matters on July 31.
