Mill was 1/2 mile south. North Carolina Office of Archives and History 2010 Current location: 35.68883, -79.62891 Original Marker Text (1939): K-10 Cox's Mill Headquarters of David Fanning, noted leader of North Carolina Tories, 1781-82, stood 4 1/2 mi. southeast, near site of present "Bean's Mill." Archives and Highway Department 1960 Original location: 35.734016,-79.652901 The original marker was located in Ramseur, NC at the junction of Coleridge Road (Hwy NC 22) and Liberty Street. When visited on 21 February 2004, the marker casting date was 1960, suggesting that the original marker of 1939 was "lost" or "destroyed."
