In this scenario, there has been an outbreak of short-stemmed designs, which were initially conceived to achieve metaphyseal fixation in order to preserve both cervico-metaphyseal and diaphyseal bone stock. In this way, partial neck preserving short stems are aimed to address these challenges while keeping with ‘conventional stems’ long-term success. This presentation is focused on the benefits of neck preserving short stems in primary THA in young active patients. |
